A user on X shared an image of the statue “Grave Naiskos of an Enthroned Woman with an Attendant” and other internet users believe they saw a “laptop.”
The piece, dating from 1000 BC, stands 94 cm tall and shows a woman opening an object resembling a laptop, which is being held by a young woman.
The object also shows two holes on the side, which fueled even more the theory that it might be a record of a laptop from the future.
According to The J. Paul Getty Museum Collection, the statue depicts a deceased woman extending her hand toward the shadow box held by her attendant.

The shadow box was used in funerary rituals by the ancient Greeks, and this type of representation has “a long tradition in Greek funerary art.”
“The thinness of the box indicates that, like many works of ancient art, this relief was not created to represent reality with photographic accuracy, but to convey the wealth and status of the deceased,” the museum said.
The holes in the supposed “laptop” are not USB ports but may be the result of a repair made a long time ago.
The sculpture is currently on display at the Getty Villa in Los Angeles, California.
Is this ancient Greek statue showing a laptop, proof of time travel?🤔🤔 pic.twitter.com/2rExF6UETw
